About
As the first silver dollar produced in the United States of America, the Flowing Hair Dollar holds a special place in history and remains an important series for coin collectors. The series only lasted two years and both dates are highly prized, especially for original or uncirculated examples.
This site will provide some of the information on America’s first silver dollars. This includes a brief history of the circumstances surrounding the initial creation and production of the coins, a more detailed look at the two issues of the series, and basic information on specifications and mintages.
